About Us
My name is: Cody Hurley. I started this group in an attempt to raise the awareness of cyclists on the roadway. I am a cyclists myself and I have been struck by many vehicles. But this last accident made me realize how close I came to not being here today. I was struck by a vehicle at 55 M.P.H. and I suffered only severe bruising. The person who hit me stated “I did not know what I hit until I turned my vehicle around to see what I hit". Now picture a person on a bike wearing reflective clothing on a highway off in the ditch trying to move over to let this vehicle pass, when the vehicle still strikes him and the driver of that vehicle makes that statement. Kind of makes you realize that Maybe Motorists have more important things to do than keep their eyes on the road. And that is why I am here and I am trying to get this organization off the ground and flying. I don’t know about you but I kind of didn't like the fact of that person hitting me and not knowing what they hit. But everyday all around the world there are cyclists getting hit by vehicles who never stop to check and see if they are ok. I have heard stories from my friends saying they were riding with their friends when a vehicle struck their friend and killed them on impact. I have been lucky to not witness first hand anything like that. This organization is going to prove to people that we can make our roads a safer place to be on. Everyone needs to stop and realize that laws were put into effect to share the roadway. So help us keep your loved one safe if they decide to ride on the road way. That phone call after they take off of the bad news would not be very pleasant would it? I know I would not want that phone call. And you would not want to be that driver who has to dial 911 because you hit a cyclist. Please help us Help cities everywhere make their roadways safer for cyclists to be on.
